The Calgary Flames Foundation and Kids Up Front: 20 Years of Partnership!

Since the very beginning of Kids Up Front, Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation have been an incredibly important part of what we do! In our 20-year history, the kids and families we serve have loved cheering on the Calgary Flames, Calgary Hitmen, Calgary Roughnecks and Calgary Stampeders. Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation and the Calgary Flames Foundation have been pillars in the community and have made such a significant impact on so many non-profits and sports associations in Calgary, including Kids Up Front.  July 13, 2020 is our 20th anniversary year and we are so excited to be entering our 20th year as an official charity partner of the Calgary Flames Foundation!

In 2019 alone, Kids Up Front distributed over 16,000 hockey tickets and over 5,000 Football tickets thanks to the continued support of The Calgary Flames, The Calgary Hitmen and The Calgary Stampeders. Thanks to our donors and Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation, we have also been able to develop our Suite Ambassador volunteer program at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Hundreds of kids get to enjoy a VIP Suite experience every season that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to enjoy and we think that’s pretty amazing!

Although 2020 has looked a bit different since COVID-19, Kids Up Front and The Calgary Flames Foundation have still been working hard to deliver enriching experiences and useful resources for kids and families. Looking for ways to keep the hockey fans in your house engaged? Looking for resources in the community? Then check out United By Community here to access TONS of good stuff.

We’re so excited to partner with the Calgary Flames Foundation and with their support, 500 kids will receive a printed copy of the Calgary Flames #unitedbycommunity activity booklet! This will directly support our #KidsAtHome program that allows us to continue providing experiences to kids from their homes.

"Our clients are usually children and youth from low-income families, newcomers to Canada. Some of them have never experienced going to a hockey game or a field trip or Calgary Stampede despite being here for a certain amount of time. This is such a good initiative to bring them out of isolation and offers a great opportunity for families to bond” – A Grateful Partner Agency

This is the beginning of a wonderful partnership that will continue and eventually provide thousands of deserving kids with a seat in the crowd as soon as it is safe to do.

Thank you to the Calgary Flames Foundation for the incredible support they provide to the community, especially during these uncertain and challenging times. We are so grateful to be a part of a community that cares for one another and we know 2020 and 2021 will be truly memorable.
